How quickly are dedicated servers provisioned?
Dedicated servers listed on our website are typically provisioned within 4 to 24 hours. Custom servers can take longer. We endeavour to ensure that all new dedicated servers are activated as quickly as possible.
What is the minimum commitment period?
For clients who purchase a dedicated server with a one-month commitment period, you can cancel any time from our client area after the first 30 days.
Can I make custom upgrades to a server?
Yes absolutely, please send us an email to support@webworld.ie with the details and we would be happy to assist.
I would like to install an OS that is not on the website, can I install it?
Yes, we support all major operating systems. For a custom installation please send the details to support@webworld.ie
Where are the servers located?
All servers are located in our two data centres in South Dublin.
Why should I choose a dedicated server over shared hosting?
There are a couple reasons to choose a dedicated server over a standard hosting plan, the main reason is that on a dedicated server you are alone. The full server is for you and you can manage all your resources while on a hosting plan the resources are shared between multiple users. Other reasons include more power and capability of withstanding larger usage of resources for big jobs.
What is the difference between a VPS and a dedicated server?
Virtual Private Servers are essentially like a shared hosting plan with the difference being that it gives you a lot more resources and it seems like you are on your own machine. VPS’ are also not as powerful as dedicated servers which makes VPS suitable for small to medium companies while dedicated servers pack a lot more punch and are suitable for companies that are growing at a very quick rate.
Can I upgrade my VPS to a dedicated server?
Yes you can! This will feature downtime as the migration time strongly depends on what is located on your server.
How many IP's can I get upon purchasing my server?
You receive one IP address upon purchase and you are allowed to apply to get up to 16 addresses with justification when purchasing a server.
What speed do you offer on your servers?
We offer 1Gbps uplink as standard with all new dedicated servers. The bandwidth limit varies depending on the server you choose.
